🍲 Ingredients

Goat Cheese – Goat cheese is full of b eneficial probiotics, so it’s great for your gut health. It’s also delicious and creamy. Goat cheese is great in salads, on its own, on crackers, in recipes, in pastas—the list goes on and on. Its tangy flavor and creamy texture create the perfect base for this warm, indulgent dip.

Olive Oil – I made this recipe with Bona Fortuna Olive Oil . This olive oil is one of my favs and a necessity in my kitchen. I used their limited release Grand Cru extra virgin olive oil. It’s made with a blend of the best olives, and is so flavorful. I can’t stress enough the importance of using a quality olive oil in your cooking. It makes SUCH a difference. This oil is great as a finishing oil on things like soup, pizza, dips, etc.

👩‍🍳 How to Make Baked Goat Cheese Dip

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. To a small square baking sheet of choice, add the olive oil, onions, garlic, tomatoes, goat cheese, oregano, pepper and chilli flakes. Bake for 50 minutes or until the mixture is completely bubbly and the goat cheese is golden in color.
  3. While that bakes, cut your desired bread loaf into thin slices, coat with more olive oil and brush with a fresh garlic clove. Cook on the parchment live baking sheet for 5 minutes on each side once the goat cheese has been in the oven for 40 minutes. Remove both dishes once cooked.
  4. To a small bowl, combine 3 tbsp. of olive oil, chopped fresh oregano and basil. Stir till combined.
  5. Serve this oil on top of the goat cheese dip with a drizzling of honey! Dip with bread and live your best life! Enjoy!

🪄 Tips and Tricks

  • Temperature: Let goat cheese sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before baking for the creamiest texture.
  • Broiling: For an extra golden top, broil for 1-2 minutes of baking (observe to prevent burning).
  • Consistency: If you prefer a looser dip, add 2-3 tablespoons of cream before baking.
  • Presentation: Serve in the baking dish to keep the dip warm throughout your gathering.

🗒 Variations

  • Cheese: If you are vegan or dairy-free, use your favorite vegan cheese! I would suggest a soft/salty cheese!
  • Herbs: I always recommend using fresh herbs for the finishing touches, but dried herbs work in a pinch – just use 1/3 the amount.
  • Tomatoes: Cherry tomatoes are ideal, but you can substitute diced Roma or plum tomatoes.
  • Heat: Adjust the chili flakes to your preferred spice level, or omit them entirely for a milder dip.

👝 How to Store Leftovers

This dip is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven.

🤔 Common Questions

Yes! Assemble the dip up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate, covered. Add an extra 5-10 minutes to the baking time if cooking directly from the refrigerator.

The dip should be bubbling around the edges, and the top should be golden brown. The tomatoes will be soft and slightly caramelized.

Some goat cheeses have higher moisture content than others. If your dip seems too runny, try baking it longer to reduce the liquid, or serve with a slotted spoon.

Absolutely! Feta makes a nice substitute, though it won’t get as creamy. A combination of goat and cream cheese also works well for a milder flavor.

Yes! For different flavor variations, try adding chopped olives, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, or sun-dried tomatoes.

A crusty baguette or ciabatta works beautifully. For gluten-free options, try rice crackers or a gluten-free baguette.

Crunchy vegetables like cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, or endive leaves make great low-carb options. Crackers or pita chips work well too.
