This garlic butter pasta is an adult-version of butter & noodles you used to eat as a kid. So yummy!
Do you remember having butter pasta as a kid? Creamy butter, a bit of salty parmesan cheese on noodles? It was so comforting! This is the adult version of that. We’ve elevated it a bit but kept it simple. This garlic butter pasta uses a yummy green onion butter that you’ll want to smother on everything.

Why you’ll love this garlic butter pasta:
- Quick: This garlic butter pasta will only take you 25-minutes to pull together
- Crowd Pleaser: Everyone will love this recipe. Even the kiddies!
- Versatile: Add in your fav fresh herbs, veggies, protein, or whatever you want
Ingredient Notes:
Green Onion Butter: This yummy butter will take an additional 15 minutes to make but I promise it’s worth it. It is so delicious you’ll want to spread it all over everything, and it adds a special pop of flavor to this that is different than just boring ol’ butter.
Spaghettini: Found in your pasta aisle, spaghettini is a thinner version of spaghetti. If you can’t find it, regular spaghetti works fine, just cook it to the package directions as it takes a little longer than spaghettini.

How to make garlic butter pasta:
- Prepare the Spaghettini according to the instructions on the package in a large pot.
- Rinse, strain, and set aside.
- Melt the charred green onion butter in a large pan over medium-high heat ( recipe here )
- Once it begins to bubble, add the white onion and cook for 2 – 3 minutes until the onion is tender and fragrant.
- Add the lemon zest and all of the spices.
- Cook for another 2 – 3 minutes
- Add the cooked Spaghettini to the pan, mix together, and add the lemon juice, basil, and oregano. Mix until combined.
- Serve and enjoy!
Pasta: Swap the Spaghettini for your preferred pasta shape OR use gluten-free pasta!
Protein: Add your favorite protein option to this dish! Delicious!
Cheese: For extra deliciousness, add some grated cheese of your choice. Parmesan or Gruyere would be our top choice!
Storage: Store the pasta in the fridge for 5 – 7 days, and reheat to serve!
